Fitness trackers or activity trackers are the smart electronic devices which monitors or track fitness related measurements[1]. Theses devices contain micro-controllers which are attached closed to body in the form of smart bands to record activity.

Fitness tracker functions include distance run or walked, heart beat, temperature, blood pressure and calories consumed. These measurements are recorded through devices such as fitness bands or smart watches. 

The devices are interlinked through some applications or programs with computers or smartphones. Which keeps record of activities based on the time and storage capacity of devices.
